The UN is urging introduction of new Global Hazard symbols (GHS). There is no international implementation schedule for the GHS. It is likely that different national systems/sectors will require different timeframes for GHS implementation. Pressure builds in US against VOCs in aerosols
In June 2012, the California South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) issued its draft 2012 Air Quality Management Plan (AQMP) for the District that will eventually become part of the overall California State Implementation Plan (SIP) to be developed by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). Ultimately, the plan will be submitted to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Among other things, the proposed AQMP seeks to eliminate the current exemption for Low Vapor Pressure (LVP) compounds in the California Consumer Products Regulation.
